Remembering GM David Mackery (1954 - 2026)

It is with profound sadness and fellowship that Council no. 1234 announces the passing of Brother David Mackery, a devoted and loving family man, and stalwart member of the Royal Example Brotherhood for over thirty years.

Brother David lived his life entirely in service to the foundational principles of our Order: Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism. As a Fourth Degree Knight, he wore his regalia with immense pride, serving as a regular fixture at honor guards for civic ceremonies, patriotic events, and the funerals of fallen fellow members. Known for his tireless work behind the scenes at the council's charity pancake breakfasts, fish fries, and Coats for Kids drives, David brought joy and a welcoming smile to every chapter gathering.

He is survived by his beloved wife, children, and grandchildren, as well as a brotherhood that will deeply miss his steady leadership and generous spirit.

A remembrance gathering, led by the Brotherhood, will be held on Monday evening at the community hall, followed by a memorial service on Tuesday.
